The NEET PG 2021 counseling is put on hold. The central government on Monday has assured the Supreme Court that counseling for NEET-PG will not begin till the court resolves a pending matter regarding reservation for EWS in the NEET All India Quota (AIQ).

The petitioners have requested to quash the July 29 notification announcing 27 percent reservation for OBCs and 10 percent reservation for EWS in the AQI.

After the hearing, the court had asked the Centre to explain what exercise they have undertaken in order to fix the annual income eligibility of Rs 8 lakh for the EWS category. 

In simple words, the counseling for NEET-PG will not start until the legal matter is solved. Many students are waiting for this counseling as this will decide their admission. So, students aspiring to take admission to the postgraduate medical courses have to wait for a few more days.
