To discuss extensively the CBSE 12th standard exams, a meeting was called by the Education Minister. Defense minister Rajnath Singh, Union Women and Child Development minister Smriti Irani and Prakash Javedkar, the Minister for Information and Broadcasting were present in the meeting. The education minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal held a meeting on 23rd May with all the states and union territories ministers, secretaries, and chairpersons of state exam boards. Delhi’s government is not in favor of conducting the exams in this threatening scenario caused by the pandemic.
The Education Minister tweeted, “The meeting was extremely fruitful as we received immensely valuable suggestions. I have requested the State Governments to send me their detailed suggestions by 25th May.” So, there is little chance of 12 class exams taking place currently. Most of the states want to conduct the CBSE 12 standard exam for only 19 major subjects in a shortened format in July- August.

The states Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu, and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Assam, and Tamil Nadu supported holding the Board examinations in the shortened format. In addition, most of the government representatives urged to complete vaccination of the teachers and students thereby safeguarding their health. States such as Kerala, Assam, Delhi, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, and Meghalaya have urged the Central Government to vaccinate teachers and students on priority to ensure their safety during their time at the test center. West Bengal, Odisha, and Rajasthan have asked for more time to deliver their final views.
IMPORTANT DATES FOR CBSE CLASS 12 EXAMS,2021
- CBSE board Class 12 exam will take place between July 15 to August 26.
- There is a possibility that the exams can be divided into two phases from July 14-30 and August 1-14.
- The final dates will come out on the 1st of July.
- The result will come out in September expectedly
- Instead of 3 hours, the exam will take only 1.5 hours.
- Only MCQ type questions will be there
- The exams will conduct only on major 19 subjects out of 174 subjects.
- Students failing to sit for the exams due to covid infection will be able to sit for exams on revised dates.
